UPDATED FROM BSO REGARDING A STOLEN VEHICLE:

Per your request, please see the following update regarding the incident that occurred in the Palm Island community in Weston, Florida.

On March 8, 2026, at approximately 8:00 AM, Weston deputies observed what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle in the 500 block of Indian Trace. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Miami-Dade County.

Additional deputies responded to canvass the area for any further suspicious activity. During the canvass, deputies identified two vehicles that had been burglarized and one additional vehicle that had been stolen.

Both burglarized vehicles were left unlocked and unsecured, and both had been ransacked. The only item reported missing from these vehicles was a black folding knife.

The third vehicle, which was stolen, had also been left unlocked with the keys inside. This vehicle was later recovered unoccupied in Miami-Dade County.
